Day Five

View over a small part of the camp site tonight, Davenham's blue tents in the middle of the picture

Thanks for the cakes Mum having a good time.
Aaron
The boys were all again singing Mrs Campbell's cakes over and over!!! )

The camp fire wasn't that good, we heard the Kenyan's and the Siera Leonian's singing traditional songs which was cool. The Irish sang a song or two which were really good.
Seb

Camp fire ok definately could have been better. Met some Scottish and Americans. At the camp fire Alex D couldn't stop sliding down the hill.
Haven

The Americans camp was much better than ours, they had cooks and silence when they needed it, it was really organised and cooler
Ashley (Problem is Ashley they have leaders that only cook and wash up all week, and the kids listen to the leaders :) !!!!!!!!!!!)

It is nearly time for the beach party I can not wait. Having a great time at camp. Tomorrow we are having fish and chips yummmmmmmmmm
Edward

I had a wash for the first time on camp
Aaron (not sure if all the girls in beach wear may have had something to do with most of the boys finding the shower for the first time tonight!!!)

Thanks Faye - wait till I get home

Alex C

Alex C quote of the day in the Daily Joust "I've just remembered why I don't like heights - they're too high!!"

Ashley

Alex C is very excited because he is doing the meal swap with the Scottish, he's having mixed bean stew and pots, unfortunately Ashley invited an American , neither the Scottish or the Americans are keen on one another.
LOL

Hay Hay whats up, it's me Alex L. Spent all day on activities in the energy and skills zones, so I saw Jelly Baby's respiratories and knocked Alex C off a balance beam gladiator style!!!:) also made a tent peg, tied 6 knots which I forgot and built a chair. Yesterday I did olympia and arena and wore a sumo suit. Got a good record on shot put. We had to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 the sequel, after I went and saw my friends in the Leicester camp, then on to the German camp where we were asked questions like 'do you have washing machines' and 'do you have tv's'. They are very good at speaking english.
Charlie was sick, well he thought he was they blame it on my cooking, I mean I ate my pancakes and 3/4 of the camp did but I didn't feel sick!!!!:)
Alex L
Hopefully if the internet will stay connected will put up the photos of days 1 - 4 on the activities page.
People from USA and Scotland are coming for tea tonight for a food swap should be interesting.
Just off to Scottish camp to eat their food
Alex C

James

Made more friends from other groups
Ashley

I'm cooking tonight having a full english tea (meat pots and veg) with Alex D.
Jack

I hate everyone for voting for me to do the washing up - they say I was away talking to girls, no one is helping me as they say I was back late for dinner and this is jankers!!
Alex L

Mrs Senior (Ashley's mum) sent a very delicious chocolate cake over for tea tonight and Haven said "my mum's cakes are better" I have informed Mrs Carty by text so watch this space
Phil(SSA)
Is there a parents competition on cakes, are Mrs Campbell's going to be voted for next! So far in the competition is Mrs Langton, Mrs Senior (cake so large only had her's tonight). Must say the boys are really enjoying them (and the leaders!!!!) In fact the boys were all singing "Ashley's Mum's cake" over and over.
Dave (GSL)
Jack enjoyed his cooking so much he scrapped the pan out and ate the left overs.
Phillip

Been in the talent show today
Alex C

Thanks Mum
Ashley

Mum tell Dad to make his lemon drizzle cake and bring with him
Alex L

The disco was not brillant last night so the boys were in bed a little earlier (before 1.30am)

Alex L

Off to the neon disco now see you tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

Oh we have been to watch some jousting today bit boring and it was a set up!!!!

Vicky Davies

Day One Chamboree 2010

Leaders and Helpers required

Dear Parents
Some of you may have seen the article in the Northwich Guardian in which we were asking for volunteers to be leaders and helpers at 1st Davenham Scouts. All of our sections: Beavers Cubs and Scouts require additional leaders and helpers.
The benefits your child gains through Scouting are in the main as a direct result of the dedication, time and commitment by our adult leaders and helpers. We need your help. Just how can you do that? Everybody has something they can give; do you have hobbies or recognised skills that you can share with us, first aid for example.
Could I please ask you to read through the leaflet ‘Where did all that mud come from?’ then ask yourself what could I do to support our group and community. We do need leaders and helpers, however, any volunteer support would be gratefully received.
Paul Christian
Chairman

Davenham Parish Council

We would like to say thank you to Davenham Parish Council who have kindly awarded us a new sound system
This PA system should make the Church Hall rock with its 150 amp speakers and microphone. We have also obtained two disco lights.

This equipment will be used on section activities, camps and fundraising events.

Plant Sale

Dear Parents and Friends of Davenham Scouts.
We are organising a bedding plant sale and hope that you will all support us. Further details and order form can be found at www.davenhamscouts.org.uk/plants or use the link on the homepage.

We are using the same supplier as 1st Hazel Grove Scouts have used for the last 20years and have been assured of the quality of the plants.

Why treck all the way to B & Q or a garden centre when you can just collect your order from the Church Hall

To raise as much money as possible we are asking that all parents publise this with friends/family and work collegues copies of the order form and flyer have been sent to each parent, if you did not get an email please contact davenhamscouts@hotmail.co.uk.

Everything we raise goes towards keeping subs down and to continue with the fantastic work that our leaders put into organising activities for your children.

New Tents

We would like to thank everyone that supported the Snail Race. We have now purchased our new mess tent and fire shelter with the money raised at the Snail Race, Bostock Carnival and Davenham Carnival. We still have a little way to go to raise the money for the small gazebo.

Unfortunately we do not have a photo of the new kitchen tent.
